How to Generate Homemade Electricity With No Experience

You can generate homemade electricity by making a homemade generator, through the following steps. First you have to get yourself a lawnmower with a running engine. If the lawnmower is old, you can clean its air-filter and change the sparkplug and oil.

Then get a steel plate having a number of holes and bolt the engine of the lawnmower with the plate. Between the plate and the engine you can use 3 washers so that the shaft doesn't get stuck down far. On the crankshaft of the lawnmower put a pulley, so that the belt going to the alternator runs.

Use a GM alternator where there is a switch in the circuitry and this will help you in switching on the alternator for charging of the battery. Then you should take the steel plate and bolt the alternator to it. You should get a right belt with the right tension for running between the alternator pulley and the engine pulley.

Get a 12V car battery and some cables. The cables should be used to hook the alternator with the battery post of the car battery. The battery is needed for charging the car alternator. You can buy the batteries from any autopart stores or from the internet.

Then you have to get yourself an invertor and run a couple of switches and some wires to it.

Build a wooden frame for setting on all the above things. This frame will do the job of holding the entire alternator, invertor, battery and the engine with the steel plate together. You can attach a wooden post to this, where the pull-cord of the engine is located. This wooden post will have all the switches of your generator. You can get four wheels to mount your homemeade generator on it and this will make it easy to be moved around.
