This is a guitar version of the music by Sigur Ros known as Vaka (untitled #1 from the immense ( ) album) If anyone would like to learn this, I have done a tab. i12.photobucket.com This piece was written for piano, so a guitar version is actually quite technically difficult with the stretches being a bit intense in order to get the inversions and suspensions in. I worked out the chords and melody for this piece and then tried a few ways of playing them together. Snowed in today, so also decided to film my attempt even though I haven't quite perfected it yet and there's noticeable mistakes (yada yada). First I'm finger picking, then playing the melody solo. I did then play it all noisy and distorted but Youtube now allows us to trim our videos, and thus I did - the tone was horrible and the playing very sloppy. Obviously that way of playing Vaka is pure Sacrilege. The beauty and tension of Sigur Ros are in the aurally delicate and subtle arrangements. The sort of approach I was doing was more suited to bands like GY!BE, Mono, Envy, Amesoeurs, Alcest, Neurosis, Lantlos, Explosions In the Sky, Les Discrets etc.
